Website terms of use and disclaimer

Effective date: 17 September 2026

Last updated: 17 September 2026

1. What this page covers

This page covers your use of this website and the general information published on it. It is not the agreement under which we carry out your work. That agreement is the Terms of Engagement (or engagement letter) we issue to you personally for your specific engagement, and it is a separate document. If anything on this website is inconsistent with your signed Terms of Engagement, your Terms of Engagement is the one that applies.

Spectrum Business Management Pty Ltd (ABN 64 645 222 126) (“we”, “us” or “Spectrum”) is a bookkeeping and business management practice based in South Australia. We are a registered BAS agent (registration number 26084761). We are not a registered tax agent. See Section 7 below.

2. General information, not personal advice

Everything on this site, our service pages, frequently asked questions, and any guides or checklists available for download, is general information. It is written without knowledge of your specific circumstances, your business, or what you are trying to achieve, so it cannot take those things into account.

Please don’t rely on it, on its own, to make a decision. Before acting on anything you read here, talk to us directly or to another suitably qualified adviser who understands your situation. While we take care with what we publish, we cannot guarantee that it is complete, current, or free of error, and we are not responsible for any loss arising from a decision made on the strength of this website alone.

3. Rules and rates can change

Tax, superannuation, payroll and reporting requirements change regularly: through legislative amendments, new ATO rulings, and updates to how existing rules are applied in practice. Information that is accurate when we publish it can be overtaken by a later change. We update this site from time to time, but that is not the same as a guarantee that it is current at the moment you are reading it. Where we discuss a proposed or announced change that has not yet passed into law, we will say so, and nothing on this site should be treated as a guarantee of how a proposed change will ultimately apply.

4. Prices shown on this site

Where a price appears anywhere on this website, it is indicative only, current as at the date shown, and provided as a general guide rather than a quote. The actual cost of any work depends on its scope, which is established through a conversation with us. You will always receive the price for your own work in writing, before you commit to anything, as part of your proposal or Terms of Engagement.

5. Guides, checklists and other free resources

Any guide, checklist or resource we make available for download is provided free of charge and is general by design. It is written for the questions that come up most often, and cannot account for what may be unusual about your business. Downloading a resource from this site does not make you a client of Spectrum and places you under no obligation to us, nor us to you.

6. This website does not create a client relationship

Nothing on this website is an offer we are bound by, and browsing the site, submitting an enquiry form, or booking an introductory call does not, on its own, create a client relationship. We agree the terms of any engagement in writing before work begins, including what it covers, what it costs, and what it does not cover. Where anything on this website differs from what we have agreed with you in writing, the written Terms of Engagement is the document that applies.

7. Information we are required to disclose to you

As a registered BAS agent, our BAS services are provided in accordance with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA). Our BAS agent registration number is 26084761. We are not a registered tax agent: we do not prepare or lodge income tax returns and we do not provide tax advice. If you need a registered tax agent, we are happy to work alongside one you already use, or refer you to one.

Under the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024, we are required to disclose to you any matters that could significantly influence your decision to engage us, or to continue to engage us, for a BAS service from 1 July 2022 onward. Matters to disclose: none applicable.

The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) maintains a public register of registered tax and BAS agents, which you are welcome to search at any time.

If you have a complaint about our BAS services, please contact us directly in the first instance at info@spectrumbm.com.au or 0412 042 601 with the details. If we are unable to resolve your complaint within 30 days, you may contact Shylie Harrison, who will personally review the matter. If you remain unhappy with the outcome, you may lodge a complaint with the TPB, whose process, and your review rights if you disagree with how they handle it, are set out on their website.

8. Availability of this website

We take reasonable care to keep this website available and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or free of errors. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of this website at any time, without notice, and we are not liable for any loss arising from our doing so.

9. Acceptable use

When using this website, you agree not to:

  • use it for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes another person’s rights;
  • post or transmit anything defamatory, harassing, offensive, or that interferes with other users;
  • use it to send unsolicited messages;
  • interfere with, tamper with, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems; or
  • knowingly transmit a virus or other harmful code to or via the website.

10. Intellectual property

The text, guides, design and other content on this website belong to us or are used under licence, and are protected under Australian copyright and trade mark law. You are welcome to view the site, download a guide for your own use, and link to or share a page. Please don’t republish, reproduce, or reframe our content as your own, or use it for commercial purposes, without our written permission.

Product names, logos and certification marks belonging to other organisations, including software providers and professional bodies we are associated with, remain the property of their respective owners and appear on this site only to identify the credentials we hold and the tools we use.

11. Links to other websites

This website may link to services and websites we do not control, such as software providers, booking tools, government websites, and our social media profiles. We are not responsible for the content of those sites, or for what they do with any information you provide to them. You access linked websites at your own risk, and we encourage you to review their own terms and privacy practices.

12. Liability

Some legislation, including the Australian Consumer Law, gives you rights and remedies that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified (your statutory rights). Nothing in this document limits those rights. Subject to your statutory rights, and to the extent permitted by law, we exclude all other warranties in connection with this website, and we are not liable for any loss or damage, direct, indirect or consequential, arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website.

This section deals only with your use of the website. It does not limit or affect our professional obligations or liability to you as a client, which are dealt with separately in your Terms of Engagement.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, including information collected through this website. It forms part of these Terms and can be found on our website at www.spectrumbm.com.au

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our services, or the law. The current version will always be available on this page, together with its effective date.

16. Contact us

If something on this website looks wrong, out of date, or doesn’t match what we’ve told you directly, we’d rather hear about it. Please get in touch.
